Australian Turkish Mutual Alliance was founded in 2006 to promote and protect Turkish culture in Australia. Since its foundation, ATMA has successfully organised major events to achieve its goals in line with its charter. Most notably, ATMA organised the Turkfest in 2008 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the arrival of the first group of migrant workers from Turkey to Australia, Taste of Turkey in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of official bilateral relations between Turkey and Australia.

 

ATMA also organised the Turkish Film Festival in 2017, bringing the best of Turkish cinema to silver screens across Sydney and Melbourne.

 

ATMA has also consistently organised events around Turkey’s national days in order to keep the cultural ties of the Australian Turkish youth with the home country alive.
